New Year Luncheon

Our first meeting of the new year will be a rodeo-themed luncheon at the Museum's Cultural Crossroads Learning Center on Monday, January 23rd, at 11:30 am. We are delighted to have Kiki Shumway as our guest speaker! Kiki has been involved in every aspect of the Miss Rodeo America Pageant, serving as past President for many years. She also served on the Miss Rodeo America Executive Board for fourteen years. In 2017, she was inducted into the Miss Rodeo America Hall of Fame. Kiki will be sharing her experiences working with the Pageant for all those years.

A short business meeting will follow to elect our 2023 Las Senoras board members.

The Onery Hog Barbeque will cater lunch. Wine will be available by donation, and we will have a fabulous fundraising raffle!

Kiki and her husband Harvey own and operate Shumway Farms LLC, a diversified farming operation in the Columbia Basin in Pasco, Washington. Born and raised in Arizona, they moved their family to the Pacific Northwest in the early 80s. They have been actively involved with ranching, farming, and rodeo sport for over 40 years. Kiki has served as Past President of the WA State High School Rodeo Association and Past President of the Miss Rodeo Washington Association. She was the first woman Chairman of the Horse Heaven Round-Up PRCA Rodeo in Kennewick, WA, and is a past Vice- President of the PRCA Columbia River Circuit Board of Directors. She is the recent outgoing President of the Miss Rodeo America, Inc. organization after serving a six-and-a-half-year term. She is a current member of the Miss Rodeo America Executive Board. In 2018, she was inducted into the Miss Rodeo America Hall of Fame. Kiki has been involved with and judged many states, local and national pageants. She and Harvey have three sons, who, along with their dad, have continued participating in the sport of rodeo with the emphasis being on “team roping”. With the addition of 5 grandchildren to their family, the love of our western way of life and rodeo is being passed to the next generation. In her free time, she loves to golf, cheer on her grandkids and the Seahawks, spend winters in their Arizona home, and have quality time with her family and friends.
